20th Annual British Classic Car Show

Sorry to interrupt but you can find the 2014 Classic Car Show Here – http://kwcworld.com/2014/02/17/21st-annual-british-car-show/

The good folks of the Gold Coast British Sports Car Club have done it again. For the 20th Time!! This years British Classic Car Show was a treat with top marques from accross the pond gathered in Boca’s Plaza Real. The cars were amazing with survivors and fully restored examples alike. Representative of the expansive British automobile history, there were vehicles from the 1930’s clear through 2013. MG’s in every color lined the park showing off there fun, sporty style with or without a top. Jaguar’s squared off old versus new with the E-Type’s length and distinctive overhangs giving a clear indication as to where late models get their design cues. Lotus’ models were low and lean – both new and old – somethings never change! There were TVR’s albeit only one Model 2500 in attendance – my favorite vehicle of the show and our cover car. Rolls Royce’s, Austin Healey’s, Jensen Healey’s as well as more obscure brands such as the BSA Scout and Facel Vega were in attendence – this show was a joy from beginning to end.

As a 50th celebration of the MGB, the Mini Cooper and the Triumph Spitfire, there were plenty examples of these timeless machines. As a Mini owner and enthusiast myself, these cars offer a driving joy and spirit like no other. One thing that these British vehicles have in common is their underlying sporty nature and driver oriented focus. The British automobile enthusiasm is alive and well with hundreds of owners and spectators enduring the varying weather as the day saw clouds and rain as well as bright sun and heat. On to the pics – Thanks for visiting!
